Lindsey Green, a LaGrange College senior, is a four-time recipient of the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars scholarship made possible by the Georgia United Methodist Foundation’s scholarship endowment donors, Temple UMC, LaGrange College, and the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation. In this article, Lindsey expresses her heartfelt gratitude for this life-changing scholarship.
“I am grateful to all who made this scholarship possible. I have paid my way through college since my freshman year. I am honored to be receiving this scholarship for the fourth time,” Lindsey said. “Without this scholarship, I would not have been able to attend the school of my choice. Having this scholarship has given me opportunities I would not have elsewhere.
“I am double majoring in accountancy and marketing and entrepreneurship with minors in history and servant leadership. I am a member of the women’s cross country and softball teams and president of our Panhellenic Council and Campus Circles, service organizations aimed at building relationships between college students and young adults with exceptional needs. I am a resident advisor, a member of Delta Mu Delta and Alpha Omicron Pi, an orientation leader, a writing consultant (peer tutor), a presidential student ambassador, and a Servant Scholar.
“I chose a Methodist school because it felt like home. In a time when everything seems to be changing, I wanted to retain a sense of familiarity when it comes to my faith. I have been so lucky to have been in the presence of chaplains like Rev. Dr. Adam Roberts and Rev. Ashley Fitzpatrick Jenkins. After graduation, I plan to work towards getting my master of accountancy and hopefully my CPA very soon!”
